The Year Of The Interesting Ice Cube

You know the traditional cool-off cast of characters for summer: ice cream, popsicles, slushies. Well I've got an idea for something much more fun. I declare this the Year of the Interesting Ice Cube. Adding a cube with lemon and mint into a glass of seltzer would be so refreshing. Or imagine having friends over for a backyard party and plunking a pretty edible floral cube into their cocktail. It's like miniature ice sculptures. Art curating in your freezer. Check out some fun ideas...

My favorite ideas are: Chocolate ice cubes added to a glass of cold milk, herbs like rosemary and mint or edible flowers added to a spritzy cocktail or ginger ale, fruit like blueberries, lemons, berries, grapes or oranges added to a glass of sparkling water, layering juices {think white peach and mango} together and added into lemonade and ice tea cubes. They all sing of summer.
Cheers!
Have you ever tried this idea before? Any cool combinations I didn't think of?
P.S. If you let your kids partake in this their minds. will. be. blown.
