Polishing Up

We've been friends for awhile now, no? So, I guess it's time that I share a little confession with you. I am a, ahem, nail biter.

I can't remember a time when I didn't bite my nails. My grandmother would paint my nails with polish that was supposed to taste like jalapeno peppers. My mom would smack at my hands when I would do it. I even got acrylic nails in hopes that would break the habit, but I eventually peeled and pulled those off. For years upon years, my little stubs remained.

Recently, I've decided to appeal to my greed. Every week that goes by that I don't bite my nails I treat myself to a new nail polish color. I head to the little shop in my neighborhood that sells bottles of polish by the dozens, settle on a color, walk next door to the coffee shop, order up my favorite drink and paint away. It's heavenly.

Currently, I am totally smitten with Essie's Lilacism. It's so sweet and subtle. But a new week is here and I've held off from chomping away at the bit, literally, and I need a new color.

So spill beauty gurus, do you have any shades that you are head over heels for that you would care to share?

xx

I've been a nail biter my whole live and this summer I'm trying to stop. It's so hard. New colors definitely do help. Keep them with you all day long cause you'll find yourself picking off the polish and once there's one chip in the color then you're in trouble. haha. Good luck!!

So true, Nikki! I fell trap to that a couple of weeks back while on a long car ride. Oops!

I've never bitten my nails :)
I love Essie polishes. Right now wearing "ballet slippers" on my fingernails. It's light and if it chips it's not noticeable. On my toes wearing "peach daiquiri" it's a bright coral and very summer-y.
